Weapons

katana- custom made Japanese sword, most common & famous.

wakazashi- 2ft sword usually accompanied with the katana. It is used primarily for defence or close range combat.

katana-uke -a arm band that’s made of steel or iron plates that cover the surface. It is used to repel a swords attack.

HONORIFICS

san- translates to Mr. or Mrs. common respectful term

sama- translates to Lord or Lady, highly respectful for one admired greatly

chan- closest meaning would be Little, often spoken to a child or girl to girl friends talking

ITEMS

Kuroryuga- “Black Dragon Fang”, the old sword Yoshino once wielded as Shinseimori of the Seven Famed Swordsmen.

PLACES

Koukai- the realm were Yoshino lives & where the manga story takes place.

Sakura Shrine- where the paranormal Cherry Tree grows. It’s an old, haunted shrine that was once used by Shintoist. The shrine is named after a legendary priestess named Sakura-miko-sama. Yoshino now lives there.

Sakuyajin no Sakura- “Sakuya Goddess of the Cherry Blossom Tree”. It’s a sacred tree that’s believed to be the home of a wood sprite named Sakuya who was worshipped as a Goddess by the old village called Somei no Yoshino, which was destroyed. All of the shrine-keepers were killed as well but the tree remained untouched. She still stands there & acts as a passageway for Akatsuki to pass through freely, traveling from her world to Koukai.

ATTACKS

Kiya- “spirit arrow” a unique ability used only by Jirojin, he manifests his ki to form a bow & arrow & fires with deadly results.

Tsumekaze- “wind claws” or “sickle claws” Kagekiri’s attack, his ki manifests into an extension of his claws & when released creates sharp cuts of wind that can slice up his opponent.

Zaku- “transformation” almost all unnatural beings have this ability in Koukai: yokai, gods, dragons, spirits & beasts.

Ki- “spirit” the Chinese word that Akatsuki uses is “Chi”, energy that comes from the soul.
